We're getting ready to head to Idaho for the week. My sister in law is graduating High School, and we're heading down for that, and to spend time with the family... This, of course, means the kids will be missing a week of school.
I wasn't able to get in touch with my daughter's teacher, and she didn't send anything home with her to work on while we're gone, so I'm not really sure what I'll have her do while we're gone. I guess I can try emailing her, and hope to hear something, but I don't think I'll get an answer from her... Pretty frustrating, but what can I do...?
My monkey boy's Kindergarten teacher asked me to have him work on his writing. She didn't have anything to send home as they'll mostly be doing their end of the year testing. I wanted to have a place for him to keep everything neatly, so I made him a little homework journal with some drawing paper and paper from a writing tablet I bought him and forgot about. Here are some pics.

And the inside:
Each day we're gone, he will write at least 2 sentences about what we did that day, and then he will draw a picture about what he wrote. When he goes back to school next week, he'll be able to share his journal with the class. He seems excited about the "homework" now that he sees what he'll be working in, so that made me happy. Now I just have to make sure I remember to pack some pencils and crayons!
